Cultivating cybersecurity for all
by delivering expert services with small town hospitality.
About Green Field Information Security
What we provide:
- Friendly, no pressure, no scare tactic, no nonsense service. Get what you want, get what you need.
- Years of cybersecurity experience obtained from employment in small to medium businesses and large Fortune 100 corporations.
- Experts with the industry's most sought after certifications.
Growing up I never imagined I would serve our country, travel the world, and become a cybersecurity expert. Just prior to starting this company, I encountered a small Iowan non-profit experiencing fraud beginning with a vendor's compromised email accounts. I also encountered others experiencing ransomware attacks.
Wanting do more for our communities, I created Green Field Information Security. I hope to help you in a similar manner as I experience farmers and others in Iowan towns, helping each other in their times of need.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will you help us perform our own cybersecurity?
Yes, of course! We love to help others learn about cybersecurity and we can not be cybersecurity for you. Do not be afraid to reach out and ask us for help in starting up a cybersecurity program.
We are happy to provide free resources. For example, check out CISA's Cyber Guidance for Small Businesses at https://www.cisa.gov/cyber-guidance-small-businesses.
Can we afford to conduct vulnerability scanning?
Yes. One free tool is GVM (https://greenbone.github.io/docs/latest/history.html). Depending on one's environment this is a cost-effective solution. However, factoring in the time it takes to set up, the cost and time to maintain the system it runs on, and the time for scanning, it may be less expensive to use commercial solutions.
Do you provide penetration testing, 24x7 detection and response services, and/or incident response?
We are trained in penetration testing, threat hunting, forensics, and incident response. We are happy to assist by providing basic assessments, but we do not provide full services for these. We can review, suggest improvements, add detections, and assist with automating actions to take. However, being a smaller company we do not provide around-the-clock security operation services at this time.
To assist, we can put you in contact with professionals who do these lines of work, assist with explaining their findings, and work with you and these vendors to mitigate and verify mitigations of findings identified.
I am a victim of cyber crime. What do I do?
First, if you or someone else is in immediate danger, please call 911 or your local police.
Second, we recommend filing a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center. (https://www.ic3.gov/)
If you would like additional help, contact us and we will discuss how we are able to lend a hand.
I have a question not listed. Are you able to give me an answer?
Certainly. Please email us and we will provide an answer as soon as we are able to. We may even add it to our "Frequently Asked Questions" list!
