Hi there! I'm Tim, the founder of Green Field InfoSec.
I grew up in Iowa, served my country, traveled the world, and learned that the best way for me to help people is to keep their data safe.
When I first saw a local non-profit fall victim to ransomware, I knew I had to do more. That's why Green Field InfoSec exists, to give small and medium businesses a friendly, no-pressure partner who can share their expertise and hands-on help.

Can you help me run my own cybersecurity program?
Absolutely! We love teaching and empowering others. We'll walk you through setting up a solid program, and we'll point you to free resources like CISA's "Cyber Guidance for Small Businesses."

Is vulnerability scanning affordable?
A great free tool is Greenbone Vulnerability Manager (GVM). It's cost-effective for many setups, but if you're unsure, we can help you decide whether a commercial scanner might be a better fit for your needs.
Do you offer 24/7 monitoring or incident response?
We're a smaller team, so we don't run a Security Operations Center (SOC) or conduct Incident Response (IR). However, we can:
- Review and suggest improvements to your detection set-ups.
- Automate common response actions.
- Connect you with vendors who specialize in SOC operations and IR.
I've been hit by cyber-crime. What should I do?
If you're in immediate danger, call 911 or local police. Next, file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). If you'd like extra help, just email us and we'll see how we can support you.
